Frequently asked questions

What is BuySideMetrics?

BuySideMetrics is an AI acquisition analyst for small business buyers. You upload the broker package (P&L, balance sheet, tax returns), the AI extracts and classifies the financials, and the platform produces a CPA-grade analysis: normalized SDE and EBITDA, DSCR, a weighted risk score, a valuation range, and a lender-ready report — with full formula transparency.

Is this a CPA audit or assurance engagement?

No. BuySideMetrics is a decision-support and modeling tool only. It does not perform audit, review, compilation, or any assurance engagement. It does not verify the accuracy of your source data. You should always engage a qualified CPA for formal financial due diligence.

Is this tax or legal advice?

No. BuySideMetrics does not provide tax advice, legal advice, or investment recommendations. The platform helps you model and understand financial data, but all tax and legal decisions should be made in consultation with qualified professionals.

What happens after my Deal Report?

A Deal Report covers one complete analysis — metrics, risk score, CPA-grade due diligence report, and exports — with up to 3 scenarios. Looking at more deals? Add another analysis for $99 whenever you need it, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited analyses. Your existing deal data is preserved either way.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription?

Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time. You will retain access through the end of your current billing period. Your deal data remains accessible in read-only mode after cancellation.

Can I take the export to my own lender?

Yes. The PDF export is designed to hand to any bank, SBA lender, broker, or advisor. BuySideMetrics does not provide lender introductions today — the export is yours to use however you want.

How accurate are the metrics?

The metrics are computed using standard formulas applied to the data you provide and the line-item mappings you configure. The accuracy of the output depends entirely on the accuracy and completeness of your inputs. Every formula is visible so you can verify the calculations yourself.

Do you store my financial data?

Yes, your uploaded data is stored securely so you can return to your analysis. We use encryption at rest and in transit. You can delete your deal data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.

BuySideMetrics is a decision-support and modeling tool. Not a CPA audit, review, or assurance engagement. Not tax or legal advice. Outputs depend on user inputs and assumptions.
